I believe we all have the ability to work through our own struggles when provided with a safe nonjudgemental space to process thoughts, emotions and memories. I aim to provide that space to people as I have benefited from that process myself over the years. I don’t believe I’m an expert in anyone else’s life but I have expertise in listening, asking questions and helping people tolerate and regulate difficult emotions and thoughts. I have struggled in the past myself and know that a good therapist can make a huge difference, so I strive to be that therapist for others.

We all need an outlet outside of family, friends and work to open-up about issues that need clarification. We can collaborate on solutions, and come up with ideas. Counselling often helps in dealing with problems that are bringing us down, and we feel holding us back from progressing in life.
My approach is influenced by person-centered theory using techniques from Solution Focused Therapy. I do not focus a great deal on emotions or get stuck in the past. Instead, I work on current behaviors, and where you want to go from here by breaking down what is holding you back.

Hello. If you struggle with emotion regulation, anger, anxiety and or sadness I’m here to help. Together we can unpack these emotions and explore the ways they are impacting your life and how to find relief.
My practice is informed by Somatic Experiencing (SE) which aims to gently resolve these aforementioned symptoms of stress that can accumulate in our bodies and nervous systems. I work from a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach. I believe that you have everything you need to heal within you and lead a more authentic and meaningful life, and my work with you will help bring that out. I use a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) lens. I believe your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are all interconnected and each one of them impacts and affects the other.
However, I also often use other modalities in my practice based on your individual needs. Some other modalities I use are acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Gestalt, and observed experiential integration (OEI) level 1.
Regardless of the modalities I use with you in our work together, I place a huge emphasis on getting to know you and your story.

My approach is client-centered, meaning that I am well-versed in a variety of approaches including CBT, EFT, Existential, Narrative, Art and mindfulness-based, culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed and existentially-based methodologies, and utilize them to best fit my clients’ specific needs. I use these perspectives to guide men through various issues, such as depression, anxiety, trauma and addiction. I also have a Masters and undergrad in Religious Studies, which has allowed me to travel and study with a number of spiritual leaders within Christian, Indigenous, Buddhist and Muslim communities and can incorporate this experience and wisdom into a session if the client so desires.
