Welcome to the HeadsUpGuys Community

Since launching in 2015, HeadsUpGuys has grown to become the world’s leading men’s mental health resource.

HeadsUpGuys prides itself on maintaining low costs and running a lean and well-oiled machine. Learn more About Us and Our Impact.

Together, we can help men across the world achieve their best possible mental health and live their best lives.

Donate to HeadsUpGuys

HeadsUpGuys is funded exclusively through donations.

HeadsUpGuys is currently transitioning from UBC to become our own non-profit society and charity

Having developed and grown within the University of British Columbia (UBC) for our first decade, we are now in the process of becoming an independent non-profit society. As such, UBC will no longer be accepting or processing donations for HeadsUpGuys.

As part of this transition, we have now incorporated as a non-profit society with the name HeadsUpGuys Society.

At this stage, HeadsUpGuys Society is not yet able to issue tax receipts for donations. (The process to become a registered charity in Canada, which allows for issuing tax receipts, typically takes up to a year.)

We hope this does not serve as a barrier to supporting the critical work of HeadsUpGuys.

We are currently able to accept donations via cheque.

  • To donate and support our work, please contact us at [email protected] for instructions.

We’ll continue to share updates as we move through this transition and into the next era of HeadsUpGuys.

For questions related to donations or fundraising please contact Joe ([email protected]) who manages our Community Engagement and Partnerships with support from the UBC Development and Alumni Engagement team.

Support Our Cause

HeadsUpGuys is about being there for others, but we couldn’t do what we do without the support of our community. From donating and volunteering to fundraising and sharing your recovery story to inspire others, there are many ways to get involved.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How is HeadsUpGuys Currently Funded?

HeadsUpGuys relies solely on donations from our donor community for funding. We do not receive funding from federal or provincial/state governments.

Although we are a program of The University of British Columbia (UBC), HeadsUpGuys does not directly receive funding from UBC. However, we benefit from essential support such as office space, financial administration, and human resource management.

Where Do Donations Go?

Housed within UBC’s broader research infrastructure, HeadsUpGuys contributes to the improvement of mental health outcomes by translating academic research into accessible tools and information for public benefit.

Contributions go toward sustaining our team, updating and expanding our website, ongoing awareness efforts, as well as creating promotional campaigns and materials.

(As a program of UBC, we do not have expenses related to office space, financial administration, and human resource management).

Considering a larger donation? Email us at [email protected], and we’ll be glad to discuss.
