"I highly recommend therapy to everyone, even if you 'don’t have a problem'."

WHAT WAS THE MAJOR TURNING POINT IN YOUR RECOVERY FROM DEPRESSION?

There was a point in my life where I thought, “I wouldn’t kill myself, but maybe it’d be easier if I weren’t alive. I wouldn’t have to think so much.”

At this pivotal moment, I realized my greatest strength (my mind) had been weaponized and used against myself. This was rock bottom, and I had to get out!

WHAT ARE SOME THINGS THAT REALLY HELPED?

Self Love

  • You are the only consistent thing in your life.  It’s important to be your greatest ally, support, love, and friend.

Therapy

  • It’s helpful to get an objective third party perspective from someone who is trained to help. I highly recommend therapy to everyone, even if you “don’t have a problem”.

Meditation

  • There are many different ways to meditate.  Don’t let your ego limit you into thinking there’s only one way of doing it; find the method that works best for you.

Move your energy

  • Do things that bring you joy, hang out with people who love and appreciates you as you are, exercise, and refocus your energy into areas of growth and abundance.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER GUYS FIGHTING DEPRESSION?

Learn to love yourself; your mindset is everything!

Vulnerability will make you feel weak, but vulnerability will set you free.  It takes a lot of courage and strength to be vulnerable, to ask for help, and to quiet the mind.

Remember that every situation in life is temporary, and better days are on the way.  Keep going, you’ve got this!
