The videos depict depression as a spectre that haunts a man through symptoms like insomnia, lack-of concentration, and irritability. Eventually, with guidance from HeadsUpGuys.ca, the man is able to kick depression where it really hurts. A satisfying coup de grace if there ever was one.
The challenge was to create a short film that helps guys tune into what depression really is. Men are often aware of individual symptoms such as not sleeping well or having low energy, but don’t often connect these symptoms to the underlying issue of depression. The videos show different ways that depression can interfere with a guy’s life, affecting not only his life but also the lives of people close to him. The digital short film and clips from it will be used to support HeadsUpGuys in social media, search ads, and Public Service Announcements.
