I provide online therapy using evidence-based practices to help individuals overcome their challenges by learning better skills. Skills that can help them gain control over their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and to live more successful lives. The focus of my approach is change oriented and compassion-driven. Assessments are done at the beginning to best understand the individual and plan for helpful life giving conversations. Remote therapy only.

I have worked successfully with a lot of men in my practice. I understand how hard it can be for men to seek help. At the same time I know from experience that there’s tremendous benefit involved for those men who take that first step. My counselling approach is about compassion and non-judgement. Whatever is happening for you will be accepted and faced together. From a stance of respect and an underlying core belief that you have the wisdom within you to overcome your challenges, I will support you in recognizing and engaging powerful resources both within you and around you. Counselling theories and methodologies I use include Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

It takes courage, reflection, and a few calming breaths to reach out for support when difficult life circumstances present themselves. Taking the important first step starts the journey toward applying new ways of approaching personal and relational difficulties. We will walk together in a collaborative relationship, test new skills that we learn along the way, and explore the possibilities!

Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am grateful to have been working in the field of health and human services for over 23 years. I am humbled to provide clinical counselling services to individuals, families, couples and groups. In all of my interactions I centre safety, collaboration, trauma-informed practice, cultural humility, and compassion. I hold a Masters in Counselling Psychology and a PhD with a specialization in the field of substance use and addiction. I work alongside youth and adults involved with alcohol and/or other drugs and strive to meet people where they are at with both a strength-based and collaborative lens. My deep passion involves supporting family members and carers affected by substance use who may be seeking services in their own right, or a safe place to share their experience as they navigate the rollercoaster of loving a person involved with substances.

To all of you who feel weary, frightened, overwhelmed, alone: take refuge here. You are not alone. There is hope. Although the waves seem too rough, they can be calmed. Let’s navigate these storms together. My specialties include Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (exposure response prevention-ERPs), Tics (CBIT), Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours, Anxiety, Trauma, Habit Reversal, mood, and working with those with diverse abilities and autism. I use many modalities depending on the needs of my clients, but am most proficient with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

I am humbled to have been working in the helping field since 2003. During this time, I have walked alongside many people as they navigate life, deal with hardships, and persevere. I see my role in supporting you as holding space for your hurt and distress while also assisting you in finding the change you hope to see within yourself and the relationships around you. I strive to create a partnership of trust and support and to shine a light on your strength and capacity. Typically, people come to see me because life is hard, but counselling does not need to be. I infuse our time together with hope, and laughter. A little bit about me is that I am a partner, father, weekend athlete and outdoor enthusiast.

I aim to create a non-judgmental space where the relationship between client and counsellor is built on trust and mutual respect. I see therapy as a journey—one that requires patience, empathy, and a deep respect for your unique story. My approach is person-centered, meaning I believe you are the expert on your own life. You’re in the driver’s seat, and I’m here to support and collaborate with you to find a path forward that truly fits who you are and what you need.
