Finding the optimal therapeutic fit is a bit like going on a blind date… you hope for the best and prepare for the worst. People who think I’m a fit are often high-achieving individuals with an acute awareness of their problem(s) or symptom(s), have tried all the solutions they can think of, and are giving therapy “one last chance.” I successfully get clients “unstuck” by challenging them in new, surprising, and unconventional ways. I intentionally push people 20% past where they are comfortable (because that’s where the growth happens!) and ensure they have the skills to navigate, manage, and address to discomfort long-term. My approach borrows from Narrative, IFS, and Motivational Interviewing. MY approach is collaborative and radical.

Don’t know what to say?

  • “Hi, I found your website through HeadsUpGuys. I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress recently and am looking for a therapist to consult with.”
  • “I’m wondering if you are taking new clients? I’m looking for someone to work with to help me get through a rough patch.”

It may take reaching out to 3+ therapists to find one who is currently accepting new clients. So don’t get discouraged if you don’t hear back right away. Keep reaching out to therapists until you get a response. Your better health is worth the effort.
