As your counsellor, I can help you by listening to whatever is troubling you the aim being to help you explore and understand the events or situation that have prompted you to seek help. I can help you explore any kind of problem, whether it is trying to make sense of a past life experience that is causing you some emotional pain, or a current problem that you are finding hard to cope with on your own, or perhaps a fear of something in the future which is holding you back. I strongly believe that having a safe space to talk, without judgment, can help you get clarity and empower you to move forward and make clear decisions about what you can do to improve your life.

We do what we do in life because of how we feel. When we’re happy, we think happy thoughts and feel buoyant, and are resilient and flexible. When we feel bad inside, we may become angry and resentful, or collapse in on ourselves, or worry about everything. Changing how we feel is not an easy task, because it is a manifestation of so many fundamental inner processes: how we talk to ourselves in our head, how we process and make sense of what happens to us, and how we feel about ourselves. Change, thus, comes from within; from delving into who we fundamentally are, facing what’s inside, and learning to relate to ourselves in a new way, so that we actually enjoy being alive. I am here to help you with that journey.

An increasing number of people come to a place in life when they want to talk to someone about their challenges. I am practised at providing a space in which clients feel able to start to share. This sharing can be a relief for clients and the start of a rewarding yet challenging journey.
I am trained in both the person-centred and psychodynamic approaches. The person-centred approach can help with getting in touch with the hidden parts of ourselves to have a positive influence on our life. The psychodynamic part can provide insights.
As well as studying counselling and psychotherapy at the University of Edinburgh, I have studied organisational development and nonviolent communication (NVC).

I work in a Person-Centred approach, which means offering and holding a space of understanding, acceptance and authenticity, that is ultimately led by you. It’s an approach that I feel attuned to due to its philosophy, its attempts to address power and how it can facilitate people in their process and journey of change, whatever that may be. I am interested in concepts of masculinity and the complex feelings of mixed heritage being born into a family with a background of different nationalities.

Although I trained in the dialogue between psychodynamic and person-centered approaches, I work creatively and intuitively, depending on the client’s needs. Essentially, my belief in the existence of an inner world through which we perceive an outer reality where the past is alive in the present is premised on my personal life experience. However, my primary objective is to build a therapeutic relationship with you grounded in honesty and openness, which may lead to trust and mutual understanding. What is most important to me is the relational aspect of our work together, which is deemed the prime factor in the therapeutic process according to research.

While it can be valuable to talk about your problems with close friends and family members, sometimes the people around you aren’t able to provide the help you need. I’ll listen to you and help you to understand yourself better, so you can make positive changes in your life. I’m happy to consider working with almost any issue and have experience of working with a wide range of men and presenting issues. I’ve a speciality in working with people who are affected by trauma, I’ve completed Trauma Enhanced Practice Levels 2 and 3. I holds awareness that an event, a series of events or a set of circumstances that is experienced by an individual as physically or emotionally hurtful or life threatening can be termed as trauma.

I have been working as an integrative therapist for over 10 years and tailor my way of working to meet your needs. I offer both face-to-face and online therapy.
Are you struggling with life and having difficulty finding hope for your future? Do you feel down or angry, struggling to find joy and fulfilment in life? In therapy we work together to identify the causes and find solutions. Are you tired of repeating self-destructive behaviours? Do you feel stuck and unable to move on? Unhealthy habits can develop that lead to us feeling trapped. I create a safe, non-judgmental space in which you are able to identify your problems and find ways to change.
My website has more information where I also offer a free 20 minute introductory call.

‘Something incredible happens when you open up to another human who you click with and who is trained to listen and support.’
The way I work is flexible. I meet you as an individual and will accept you exactly as you are, and try to see the world through your eyes. I will listen to you, really hear you and will be as genuine as I can, offering you time and space to find the answers you are looking for. I will not judge or critique you, tell you what to do, think or say, or who you should be. I will always meet you with unconditional positive regard, helping you to explore and navigate towards new insights and perspectives which can bring about a better way of relating to yourself, others or situations which you may find challenging.

My work delves into issues such as shame, pressure to conform and the inability to connect with yourself, your body, and your emotions. I usually work with men at the intersection between race, neurodiversity, social class and faith who may feel that they are different, unable to be themselves, or are dissatisfied with themselves or with their lives.
I am quite open and easy to talk to, and I think I do well with men who are nervous about coming to therapy, who find it hard to open up or who have unusual issues that cause them shame.
I am a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist with a first degree in psychology and a doctorate in existential psychotherapy.
