As an Integrative Counsellor, I tailor therapy to each client, as well as talking therapy, I draw from a diverse toolbox of techniques, such as CBT, EMDR and hypnosis. Having completed training specific to trauma and trauma-informed approaches, I am confident in my skills to scaffold clients while they learn ways to overcome obstacles, develop coping skills, and enhance their overall well-being. Through collaboration with my clients, they can explore concerns, build resilience and cultivate positive lasting change.

Would you like someone to really listen to you – who will give you time and space to express how you are, or to explore what might be wrong, without making judgements about you? I’ve been working in this field for over twenty years and can offer a range of approaches for tackling issues such as depression, anxiety, addictions and relationship problems. You are welcome to text, email or call me for a free initial chat. See my website for more details about me, how I work and how to make contact.

Hi, I’m Vauna. You can see me for online sessions on Zoom, from 10 am to 10 pm (UK time) on weekdays. I specialise in psychotherapy for neurodivergent adults (autism, Aspergers, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, alexithymia, PDA). I also help people experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, lack of motivation/performance, difficulties in relationships, workplace issues, and lack of direction. I can also provide coaching for executive functioning improvements (organisation, planning, achievements). You do not need to have a diagnosis of anything. If you feel that you’re different, that’s all that’s needed to know that you are in the right place, with a professional who can understand and work with you to get your life the way that you want it.

Hello, my name is Richard, thank you for looking at my profile. I am a qualified integrative counsellor trained in schools such as Person Centered, Psychodynamic, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy and Transactional Analysis to create a blended and bespoke model for my clients.
I understand that each individual’s journey is unique and therapy should reflect this. I have had specific training to work with male mental health and the unique challenges that face in modern society, such as work or social stress, issues around depression, anger and anxiety, relationship and dating issues, breakups and parenting challenges. I aim to create a warm, non judgmental environment where we can identify what troubles you and how to move forward in life.

‘Something incredible happens when you open up to another human who you click with and who is trained to listen and support.’
The way I work is flexible. I meet you as an individual and will accept you exactly as you are, and try to see the world through your eyes. I will listen to you, really hear you and will be as genuine as I can, offering you time and space to find the answers you are looking for. I will not judge or critique you, tell you what to do, think or say, or who you should be. I will always meet you with unconditional positive regard, helping you to explore and navigate towards new insights and perspectives which can bring about a better way of relating to yourself, others or situations which you may find challenging.

My work delves into issues such as shame, pressure to conform and the inability to connect with yourself, your body, and your emotions. I usually work with men at the intersection between race, neurodiversity, social class and faith who may feel that they are different, unable to be themselves, or are dissatisfied with themselves or with their lives.
I am quite open and easy to talk to, and I think I do well with men who are nervous about coming to therapy, who find it hard to open up or who have unusual issues that cause them shame.
I am a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist with a first degree in psychology and a doctorate in existential psychotherapy.

I offer a warm, safe and confidential space for you to share your story and explore what’s happening for you. Whether that’s something that’s happening now, or something that happened in the past, I’m here to listen and to help you make sense of your experiences.
I work with all types of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, bereavement, trauma, abuse, and relationship issues, but I have particular experience of working with young adults, people impacted by suicide, and people recovering from a difficult childhood.
I hold a master’s degree in counselling and psychotherapy and have previously researched men’s mental health. I offer in-person sessions here in Bebington and online via Doxy.

Men sometimes carry their problems around, being strong on the outside, like a suit of armour. They leave the talking to others, often women. Your friends might be doing the same, but if you’re the one to admit it, you fear losing your credibility as a real man. There may also be an inner voice telling you to man up and not show vulnerability, but this can be part of the problem.
I think counselling can help men become better friends, partners, fathers and lovers. Learning to talk about yourself without fear of judgement can help your state of mind and relationships. When I work with men, they often find it’s a relief to finally let it all out. They feel lighter and open up to change, rather than closing down or “manning up” just to fit in.
I offer both remote and in-person appointments and have experience working with English-speaking clients who live outside the UK in all parts of the world.
