Therapists in California

Like water carving rocks, we are shaped by our surroundings and where we come from. I grew up in rural Alaska surrounded by a vast expanse of towering mountains and large glacial rivers. I worked for many years as a wilderness guide, experiential educator and wilderness therapist. Dramatic seasonal changes in light, temperature, and landscape taught me that stillness exists within the extremes. I work from a perspective that combines modern neuroscience, interpersonal neurobiology, internal family systems, eco therapy and eastern mysticism. Among other things I am a father, carpenter, adventurer and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapist (KAP). Please feel free to reach out for a free 15 min consultation through my website.

If you’re struggling with OCD, anxiety, or trauma, effective treatment is available. I provide telehealth therapy to adults anywhere in California and specialize in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), a highly effective treatment for OCD, social anxiety, illness anxiety, generalized anxiety, and specific phobias.
For PTSD, I use Prolonged Exposure therapy to help process traumatic memories and gradually face fears. Because depression and loss of motivation often occur alongside these conditions, I also use Behavioral Activation when helpful to address depressive symptoms and reduce patterns that interfere with recovery.

I work with men who want results. My approach to therapy is built around first principles, accurate diagnosis, and change; understanding what’s broken, why, and how to fix it. Psychological problems aren’t mysterious entities; they can be mapped, conceptualized, and worked through with the right framework and disciplined effort.
Psychotherapy with me is direct, pragmatic, and oriented toward strength, responsibility, and forward motion. Too much modern therapy pathologizes masculinity or asks men to soften, submit, or endlessly process without progress. I don’t do that. I respect male identity, male drives, and male ways of solving problems, and I use them as leverage for change. I am in California. I prefer to meet in-person. Cash-only.

If you’ve been carrying the weight of trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, or grief, it can feel exhausting to navigate it on your own. You may want therapy that is clear, organized, and focused—a process where you know what you’re working on, why it matters, and how each session supports your goals.
I help men who prefer a structured, concrete approach to therapy. I integrate evidence-based modalities, practical skill-building, and holistic mind-body strategies so you can understand patterns, create change, and feel more grounded and emotionally regulated in daily life.
Whether you’re processing old wounds, managing current stressors, or rebuilding after loss, we work at a pace that feels safe and steady—always with clarity, compassion, and respect.

I believe the most meaningful way to connect is through listening. Each person has a unique and interesting story that should be heard. Perhaps the greatest support we can offer is our undivided attention. I consider it a privilege to provide a safe space where people discover new aspects of themselves.
Couples Counseling, Addiction, and Men’s Issues are my specialty.

In my integrated approach to trauma therapy, I seamlessly weave Brainspotting and evidence-based talk therapy to provide comprehensive support for clients. Drawing on the power of Brainspotting, I guide clients in identifying and processing trauma through the activation of specific “brainspots,” while leveraging the insights and techniques of talk therapy to foster deeper introspection and cognitive reframing. I target both the neurological and psychological aspects of trauma, and facilitate a holistic healing journey. My practice prioritizes creating a collaborative and empathetic space, where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to navigate their healing process with self-awareness and newfound strength.
