Therapy with me is a mix of honest reflection and practical tools. It’s a space where you can drop the pressure to have it all together and get real about what’s working – and what’s not. Together, we’ll explore the patterns and beliefs that are keeping you stuck and build clear, effective strategies to help you move forward with purpose.
I help professional men reduce stress, improve relationships, and reconnect with purpose in work and life. My approach blends insight and action – so you don’t just talk about change, you start living it. You don’t have to keep going in circles. Schedule a free consultation today, and let’s get to work.

The decision to seek therapy is not easy. It means we have to confront the truth that we are struggling in some facet of our life and need help finding resolution. I specialize in brain-body based therapies, such as EMDR and Brainspotting, which tap into the source of our emotional wounds located in the body. These healing modalities are highly effective in helping identify and resolve the roots of one’s distress, presenting as anxiety, depression, stress or trauma(s) that are negatively impacting your life and overall wellbeing.

I’m an experienced therapist, LMFT#23779, of more than thirty years. I have my own practice in San Diego, CA, and also counsel online, and teach graduate behavioral science courses virtually. I work primarily with adults, individually or as couples. I’ve led numerous support groups for men, as well as working individually with alcohol and porn addiction. I’ve also assisted men with life transitions, loss, divorce, parenting, co-parenting, self-care, anger management, and domestic violence. I assist in helping men understand themselves and to be responsible and accountable for their choices and behaviors. Men also need an awareness of what a woman needs in a healthy relationship, and I work in this area as well.

In my practice as a therapist I use the research on what works to help my clients get the outcomes they want: better relationships, managed anxiety, less depression and more control over life. I do not limit our work into any single modality but blend a variety of techniques to tailor my approach for each individual. I draw influence from cognitive behavioral, humanistic and dynamic psychotherapy. Therapy is a place to develop and apply philosophy to get to a different place than we are able to get on our own. I’m excited to join you!

Therapy with me is a co-created process – grounded in down-to earth discussion, respect, humor, gentle challenging, deep understanding, and the belief that meaningful change comes from a combination of a strong therapeutic relationship, insight, awareness, and learning the tools and coping skills to create meaningful change and action.
As a father, I have a personal interest in supporting new and expecting dads, supporting them to navigate the emotional complexities of parenthood, like struggling with a new identity as a father, the overwhelming responsibilities to your child, partner, and career, and the feelings of confusion, irritability, stress, and depression.

I work with men who want results. My approach to therapy is built around first principles, accurate diagnosis, and change; understanding what’s broken, why, and how to fix it. Psychological problems aren’t mysterious entities; they can be mapped, conceptualized, and worked through with the right framework and disciplined effort.
Psychotherapy with me is direct, pragmatic, and oriented toward strength, responsibility, and forward motion. Too much modern therapy pathologizes masculinity or asks men to soften, submit, or endlessly process without progress. I don’t do that. I respect male identity, male drives, and male ways of solving problems, and I use them as leverage for change. I am in California. I prefer to meet in-person. Cash-only.

I view therapy as being invited to explore ourselves in a welcoming way with someone with kindness who shares knowledge about how we function as humans, so we can gain an understanding for how we have functioned, what we need to thrive, and then thrive. This is self-worth and mastery. And with it comes our being more loving toward toward others and toward ourselves.

I am an EMDR trauma therapist and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in training who works with anxious overachievers and trauma survivors who are ready for authentic relationships with themselves, their bodies, and others. Clients may come in with recurring relationship issues, burnout, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, career/creativity blocks, low self esteem, chronic pain, experiences of abuse, suicidal ideation, and body image concerns. I support clients in finding their clarity, freedom, and inner voice to reconnect with their life force energy in order to move through difficult experiences. My goal is to help clients feel less alone and more connected to the world around them…it is possible!

Hate psychobabble? Good, me too. I want to make therapy more accessible to those that think “therapy isn’t for them”
I help men build resiliency and develop purpose through honest conversations. Sometimes this means teaching tools and techniques, sometimes this means exploring painful memories, but almost always we are having authentic conversations that respect your experiences and provide ways for you to grow.

Depression. Anxiety. Low self-esteem. Relational issues. These are common issues that people face when it comes to mental health challenges, which are enough to make life difficult. Chances are your relationships and most importantly your relationship with yourself have been greatly impacted by these factors. There’s this sense that something has to change, but you might not know where to begin. Together we embark on this journey of uncovering just how you got here and discovering where you want to go.

My approach is one that allows all of you to show up in the therapy room. Anxiety, depression, overthinking, difficulty connecting in relationships, shame… all these things can impact our ability to live our life to the fullest. So much of the cultural messaging around masculinity centers around avoiding vulnerability, and avoiding difficult emotions. By being present to what is actually here, we are much better equipped to choose how we want to show up in our lives. Talking with someone, especially as a man, can feel difficult, and I strive to provide an environment that feels comfortable, safe, and real. Reach out for a free consultation.

I believe men face unique challenges and societal pressures that can often lead to emotional and psychological distress. I specialize in helping men explore a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship problems, societal expectations, work related stress, masculinity norms, and substance abuse. Even though I’ve worked with a wide variety of clients, I have dedicated my career to helping men overcome these challenges and improve their mental health and overall well-being. In this day and age, it can be extremely isolating and frustrating to live as a man. Let me help guide you to living the life that you want.
