A New Chapter for HeadsUpGuys

Since 2015, HeadsUpGuys has been a program of the University of British Columbia, working hard to develop and deliver an increasingly comprehensive array of resources to support men as they work toward better health and happiness. Thanks to your support, we’ve grown to become the global leader in men’s mental health.

As we enter our second decade of operation, HeadsUpGuys is preparing for the next stage of its growth. We’re excited to share that HeadsUpGuys is in the process of exiting its formative UBC environment to become an independent registered charity.

This transition, which we expect to be finalized within 6–12 months, pending government approvals, will facilitate our continued growth, deepen our impact, and build broader and stronger partnerships.

Continuing to Support HeadsUpGuys

Given this transition, UBC is no longer accepting/processing donations to HeadsUpGuys.

However, you can continue to support HeadsUpGuys by donating to HeadsUpGuys Society (BC Incorporation Number: S0083624), which is our new formal name as an incorporated non-profit society.

It is important to let you know that until HeadsUpGuys Society attains registered charity status with the Canada Revenue Agency (which we are currently working on), we are temporarily unable  to issue tax receipts for donations. We hope that this will not serve as a barrier to supporting the critical work of HeadsUpGuys. In fact, your donations are needed now more than ever, as we begin to establish ourselves as an independent non-profit organization.

Together We Can Save Lives

Your support has been the driving force behind our success, and it will remain vital as we take this next step. We’re deeply grateful to have you with us on this journey and look forward to updating you as we move forward.

With much gratitude,

Dr. John Ogrodniczuk
